Clustered Shared Volumes (CSV)

Don't you hate it when someone tells you that something isn't possible but you know that it is?

You then have to research about it to prove your point. This is one of those moments.

We have two Windows 2008 R2 servers which we want to connect to a single LUN on a u-beaut SAN. Both servers are expected to be able to read/write to the same shared storage.

The Windows servers are running a bit of software from Oracle that manages File Locking/Sharing. Windows 2008 R2 includes Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV). Clustered Shared Volumes allows nodes to share access to storage, which means that the applications on that piece of storage can run on any node, or on different nodes, at any time.
