MAC vs PC

I have been a PC user since the early 90s. I have built many systems to fit my needs (at the time).

As of July 2008, I am now also a Mac user.  Am I happy about that?  Sure I am.

I purchased the Mac as I found that I kept on buying more and more toys for PC, but never actually settled down.  I never did get that PC that I was always after.

Then came the MAC.

Being a newby (right now) is a pain.  I havent got any software.  I havent got the shortcuts down pat.  I don't have as many hard disks as I used to.

I now have to buy an external enclosure to house my many drives - that currently fit nicely in my PC.  I could leave the drives in the PC and share them over the network, but it isnt the same.  I dont want to have to keep turning the PC on.. or leaving it on.

However....the Mac is so quick.  The Mac is so quiet.  The Mac just does what the Mac should do - and it does it well.

Parallels is frickin' great.  It fills my PC cravings.  It allows me to play around and download stuff from dodgy sites, without stuffing my Mac up - and at the end of the day, I can revert back to my snapshot.  Nice.

I did use VMWare on PC (as well as VirtualPC) but the point is, now with the Mac I am not tempted to install everything I find on the net.

One thing on Mac that pisses me off to no end.... the Home and End key definitions.  Who are they kidding? Make home go to the beginning of the line, and end to go to the.... end!  But.. it's a sacrifice I am willing to take.
